We’re thrilled to announce that Mosaica has just secured its second Erasmus+ project approval.

Titled The Art Sanctuary (2025-1-IT03-KA153-YOU-000297254), this brand-new initiative marks another major milestone in our commitment to mental health, creativity, and empowerment through non-formal education.

About the project
The Art Sanctuary is designed to integrate art therapy techniques into youth work practice, giving youth workers across Europe the tools to support the mental health and emotional well-being of the young people they work with. It’s more than just training, it’s about reimagining care, creativity, and connection in spaces where young people gather, express, and grow.

Through innovative workshops and practical sessions, the project focuses on four key objectives:
● Enhancing the skills of youth workers through hands-on art therapy methods like painting, sculpture, and mixed media
● Promoting better mental health support using creative, non-verbal tools
● Introducing innovative communication strategies in youth work
● Empowering youth workers to address mental health issues with sensitivity and confidence

This project aims to create safe, expressive, and healing spaces, true sanctuaries, through art.

A collaborative, international effort
The project will kick off with a two-day Advance Preparatory Visit (APV) in Rome, where representatives from each partner organization will collaborate to finalize logistics and co-design the learning experience.

Following that, the implementation phase will bring together 25 youth workers from across Europe for an immersive 8-day training. Through workshops, creative labs, and collaborative resource development, participants will gain skills and co-create an online booklet that will serve as a lasting resource for youth workers across Europe.

Who it is for
This project is specifically designed for youth workers and educators, particularly those working with marginalized or vulnerable communities. Special emphasis will be placed on inclusion: welcoming participants with fewer opportunities and ensuring everyone has equal access to learning and collaboration.

Why it matters
With growing challenges to mental health, especially among youth, the need for sensitive, innovative, and inclusive support tools has never been greater.
The Art Sanctuary recognizes that traditional methods aren’t always enough. Through the transformative power of art, this project offers new pathways for expression, healing, and connection.

It will also leave a lasting legacy:
● Practical art therapy resources in multiple languages
● Local follow-up workshops across partner countries
● A sustainable peer network of empowered youth workers
● Long-term integration of creative methods into daily youth work

A message of gratitude
We extend our deepest thanks to the Erasmus+ program for once again believing in our vision. This second approval is recognition, fuel for our mission to create meaningful, youth-centered change across Europe.
