The Association Mosaica team packed their bags again, ready for another exciting journey, this time to Detmold, Germany. The purpose of the trip was to participate in an Advance Planning Visit (APV) organized by the Kultur & Art Association. This visit was part of the preparations for the upcoming project, “Get your own picture: Learning through art,” which is scheduled to take place from the 15th to the 26th of August 2024.

Upon arrival, the hosting organization welcomed us warmly as usual. It was our first official visit to their office in Detmold, and we were thrilled to finally be there. The association members are our long-term friends, so reconnecting with them after a long time made the occasion even more special. It was a typical Erasmus story: meeting amazing people from the other side of the world and cherishing those reunions every few months or years.
The APV is important to guarantee the project’s success, helping the hosting team and other involved participants to organize logistics, complete the program specifics, and create shared expectations for the events. The visit also encouraged cultural exchange and networking among the participants from various nations which was great for developing a cooperative and artistic setting.
We held a very productive and constructive meeting during which they presented the details of the project and we discussed workshops, methods, participants, accommodation, travel arrangements, food, and all the other necessary aspects of the implementation. We were amazed by their efforts and creativity and we cannot wait for the participants to experience everything they prepared.

The hosting team took us to see the accommodation for the participants and this is something that amazed us in particular. The selected scout house in the woods is perfectly equipped for groups like those in Erasmus projects and we believe participants will be even more excited than us.
After the presentation, there was an open discussion where many questions came up about certain parts of the project. The group had a constructive discussion where everyone shared good ideas and suggestions. This teamwork helped answer the questions well and through brainstorming, we constructed a perception of shared responsibility and excitement for the project.
After the official part, a social BBQ took place at one of the members’ homes where we shared our Erasmus stories, bonded, laughed and enjoyed German cuisine. Implementation is ready to initiate and we cannot wait to get into it!
